The market town of Gort is 4 miles from the farm where you will find shops, banks, etc, plus of course traditional music in the pubs and plenty of Guinness!

The surrounding area has a wealth of heritage sites including 'Thoor Ballylee' (only 3 miles away), home of William Butler Yeats. Also nearby, is Coole Park, where the famous Lady Gregory lived, founder of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. The house at Coole has been demolished, but there are wonderful woodland walks to be had, as well as an information/visitors centre and tea rooms.

Megalithic Tombs, ring forts and castles abound, some of which are open to the public. And of course, there is the world renowned Burren, known for its karst limestone geology and unique botanical environment with the now popular Ailwee Caves. The Cliffs of Moher dramatic coast line & much much more all within easy reach of a day out.
